We have had a wonderful celebration for turning 60 with the family in a great setting. It is a lovely house and very well equipped and, equally important, a warm welcome. We enjoyed a walk to Crich Memorial with fantastic views from the Tower. We also visited The Bear – a quite unusual ‘drinkers’ pub, which also felt quite welcoming.

The cottage is a Treasure. From the well-appointed kitchen to the incredibly comfortable bed, it exceeded our expectations. On sunny days we loved to sit on the terrace, when it rained the cottage was a cosy refuge. For us the location was perfect, and we were very impressed with how friendly the neighbours were. Thank you for sharing your Treasure!!

We spent two amazing nights at Church Farm. The house is cosy and beautiful. We slept very well, the neighbourhood is very good. The house is very well equipped, furnished and we feel we were at home. We came to the UK cheering ‘Los Powas’ that are playing at the RWC 2015. We wish to come back again to Church Farm Cottage. The Houldsworth & Conell / Bracon families (August 2015)
An excellent holiday in a beautiful part of the Peak District. We enjoyed our week in the Peak District, a perfect location to base our stay. On a sunny day, we can recommend Dovedale for a nice day with the kids, shallow river for paddling in and a nice walk through the gorge. The Market Place fish & chip shop at Ashbourne was delicious & was well worth a visit as was Bakewell for an original Bakewell Pudding, slightly expensive but worth it. Now is the time to visit Alton Towers, it was very quiet this week. He house is comfy & spacious & well equipped but would like more info such as about recycling bins, manuals etc. All in all an excellent holiday in a beautiful part of the Peak District. Thank you.

Sandra & Co., Brisbane (June 2015)
Gorgeous house, really well equipped. Bed in front bedroom was like sleeping on a cloud! Such a nice house that we briefly considered taking up squatter’s rights!! Everyone friendly & helpful. Definitely recommend Oriental Palace if you fancy a take-away. Butcher in Crich very nice too. Off home now, Thanks & Bye!

‘Wow’ What a beautiful house. We are so pleased we were able to stay here to really immerse ourselves in the whole Derbyshire experience. The house is cosy but spacious and the location was convenient allowing us to experience the local attractions and walk up to the top Hag which our dad, Ruben & Elliot was so fond of going up nearby. All in all a lovely stay and thankyou for sharing this gorgeous house.

Not that far from home but it felt like another world as we chilled, played & explored further north into the Peaks than we would from home. Great house for a big family - & we got the bonus sunny weather!

Thank you for providing everything we needed. A delightful cottage, haven’t stopped raving about it! Thank you for providing everything we needed – and more, we’ve explored the area and enjoyed our stay – lovely countryside.

Helen - UK (July 2014)
Church Farm was great holiday accommodation for our extended family. The two living rooms were ideal as our daughters could watch a movie in one room and we could chat and watch the World cup final in the other! Beds are really comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. Ground floor cloakroom is a bonus as is the very large fridge. It's nice to look out over the Derbyshire hills while eating on the terrace but there really is no back garden other than that. The lights went out at one point but with one quick phone call the neighbour came over and sorted this out for us. Definitely would recommend.

Rolle, Switzerland (July 2014)
A really comfortable and stylish countryside property, with great attention to detail and very relaxed owners. The garden and surrounding countryside are lovely. Access was down a single-track road, but although it's off the beaten track it's still less than 10 mins from Ashbourne and 30 from Derby. Our dog loved it too, but couldn't go off the lead too much as there were free range chickens! The kids (14 and 10) loved the trampoline and the space to kick a ball around. Overall, a very relaxing place to stay. Internet access would have been useful - maybe for the future?

FarNeill (May 2014)
Our stay at Church Farm was fabulous from start to finish. The Farmhouse catered for us all - 3 couples, one with a baby and a dog. The kitchen and dining area were a pleasure to cook and dine in and the 2 lounges were brilliant as we all didn't want to watch the same thing on TV in the evening or some of us just wanted quiet time. The family bathroom is amazing - the large shower and roll top bath with awesome views across the Peak. We had fab hot weather during our stay so we made a lot of use of the back garden and patio. David and the guy living next door could not have been more helpful. Thankyou again! Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers.

Simon - Reigate (November 2013)
Church Farm in Fritchley was a nice relaxing break for us. The house is spacious, everything was very clean and the kitchen was large and well equipped. Usually there is something missing in holiday houses, but not at Church Farm. (We look forward to the kitchen table that's coming soon.) There's big fridge-freezer, roomy enough to store all our food. i am on a special diet for my medical condition, so this is very important for me. Church Farm is in such a peaceful location and the beds are really comfortable (once you get used to them - it takes a night I think), and so we slept very well. The shower alone in the bathroom is bigger than our bathroom at home, so that was a real luxury. Our 2 year old and her 7 year old cousin loved running around and playing with their toys in the dvd room. PS do take your own dishwasher tablets. The local OS map on the wall by the front door in Church Farm is a brilliant touch, an example of how well it's all been thought out. It's a lovely area and the people are very friendly. Went for some nice walks and tea out in Wirksworth, but it being November, we were happy to stay inside and relax - as much as it's possible with a toddler!

Naomi - Kent (May 2013)
We have all enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing week in church farm. We have explored lots of the surrounding areas and exhausted the dog in the process!! Would love to come back again and do more. the owners made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. Thank you

Emma – Greater Manchester (May 2012)
The family who own this house where excellent with communication and so very helpful. Church Farm is beautiful both inside and outside, lovely bright and clean decoration, lots of space, fantastic water and heating system. Comfortable beds with bedding and towels provided. Fantastic dining area for 8 people. Ample parking on the driveway for 3/4 cars with on street parking available also. Only a short drive into Matlock village for all of your shopping needs. 20-30 min drive in the opposite direction an activity centre for outdoor activities such as paintball, laser tag, quad biking, etc. We were told that the local pub has a fantastic atmosphere which was only a couple of minutes walk away, however we did not get the chance to experience this but will do the next time we come. A few of the guests have already said that they would like to book Church Farm again in the future.

Steve – Newcastle upon Tyne (April 2012)
I stayed in Church Farm for a brief 'family reunion' with my children and grandchildren in April 2012.
It is a beautiful old house that has been restored to a very high standard so that it is very comfortable and cosy without losing the charm and fascination of an old building.
The house is spacious and extremely well equipped for guests of all ages - and the old illuminated well under the kitchen floor is fascinating for young visitors (but completely safe!!)
Fritchley is a peaceful friendly village set in lovely surroundings - we definitely hope to be returning soon - with a bit more time to explore the area properly.

Sarah - Northampton (March 2012)
We stayed at this gorgeous cottage in March 2012. Church Farm was exactly as the pictures show, if not better. The cottage is spacious, yet cosy and warm. It is steeped in history whilst having a modern edge.
We stayed with our baby son and my parents and their dog! We fitted comfortably without getting under each other’s feet. The cot and highchair were great for the baby and plenty of space in the shared garden for the dog (at the minute the garden isn't enclosed so the dog did have a few adventures of her own!!).
It is superbly located for all of the areas main attractions and we found some fantastic local walks for the dog (and some very friendly locals on the walks!!).
We were met at the property by a lovely lady who showed us how things worked so handover was very smooth. I would highly recommend Church Farm because it is so beautiful.
